I have been a neighbor and friend of the Roland family most of my life. My heart goes out to Barb and Kirk, Jeff, Mike and Dean, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Gil was an excellent neighbor and a friend; I will miss him very much. And, yes, he ALWAYS had a smile. He loved people and wherever he went, he found someone with whom to chat.
