Hans Erwin Moeritz, 86, of Stow, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2007 surrounded by his family.
Hans was born in Berlin, Germany, coming to the U.S. in 1949. A faithful employee of Reuther Mold and Mfg., he retired in 1983 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Blue Lodge #735, and was also a member of Tadmor Temple, Troubadour Unit.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend, he spent many years boating and teaching his grandchildren to water-ski.
He also loved traveling and serving with the Masons and Shriners.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Frances Louise Moeritz, his wife of 64 wonderful years, as well as by a loving son-in-law, Eugene Coker, and his great-great-grandson, Skyler Dean Andreano. His survivors include daughters, Christel Coker of Leesville, S.C., and Ingrid (Ray) Roark of Austin, Texas; son, Reinhard "Rocky" (Loretta) Moeritz of Cuyahoga Falls; cousin, Wolfgang (Sigrid) Kramer; grandchildren, Michelle Ellis, Ingrid (Dave) Craig, Colleen (Jim) Barrett, Ivan (fiancé, Kristy Sullivan) Konic, Melanie (Eric) Hines, Briana (Brian) Haring, Racquel (Johnny Bales) Moeritz, Ryan (fiancé, Danielle Waddell) Moeritz, Melissa (Joe) Hallbick; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also, we would like to acknowledge Denise Webster and Eric Hixenbaugh along with many other close and dear friends and family members.
Friends may call on Saturday from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello & Carr Stow Chapel (Kent Rd. at Rt. 91), where Masonic Services will be held at 1 p.m., Rev. Jim Case will officiate at funeral services immediately following. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Shrine Children's Hospital.
