Ivan Pecic

Ivan Pecic, 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, after a long illness.

He was born the youngest of seven children in Velika Kikinda, Yugoslavia (Serbia) on February 10, 1922. He arrived in the United States in 1957, and came to Akron in 1959 to work at Akron General Hospital. He retired in 1985 after 26 years of service.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maria; sons, Bogdan (Barbara J.) and Bill (Barbara G.) of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Thursday, July 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Interment and private family burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333, in memory of Ivan Pecic.
