I found Jacob’s name on the Internet by chance. I share his same first and last name and as there are only few individuals with that name (I’m only aware of 2), I naturally wanted to find who he was. I was inspired to read about his service as Navy pilot during the Second World War, his family and contributions.

I am sorry to not have had the chance to meet him.

May God comfort you among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Jake is and always will be one of my best friends. I love him with all of my heart. While I have not enough to donate to the Alzheimer's fund, I have joined an Alzheimer's walk at www.alz.org in order to honor Jake and support my own grandfather. I'll miss you Jake.

To the Family of Jake Applebaum

Please accept my sympathy. As a youngster I was a playmate of Jake in the Copley Road-Fernwood Drive neighborhood. We were friends. But then the war came, and we did not see one another anymore . . . I am sorry. May Jacob rest in peace.

Dear Jody, Perry, and the whole family,

My heart goes out to you. I know you from High School, I didn't know your dad, but he sounded like my dad, Clarence. Your dad and mine were both pilots in W.W.II, both Builders and Contractors and Teachers. Appreciate the time and memories you do have.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Peace be with all of you reading this.
Love and Peace,

My profound sympathy to the Apelbaum family on the passing of Jake, father, father-in-law,grandfather, and my sister Krista's close friend. Krista and Jake shared a very special bond where there was no generation gap. Jake made Krista's stay at Sunrise much brighter. She was very fortunate to have Jake as her friend."Friends are God's way of taking care of us.' Sincerely, Lesley Poe Ripellino

Dear Lowrys and Apelbaums,
I feel so lucky to have gotten to know Jake here at Sunrise. I often told him that the greatest structure that he ever build was his wonderful and loving family. He always smiled and said thank you when I said that.

He brought so much love, laughter, and joy to us. I am so grateful for his friendship. I am a better person because I knew Jake. Thank you so very much.
Love, Krista Poe
