We are all so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom and Dad. We all have fond memories of them up at Kaminiskeg Lake. Our Mom and Dad always loved your parents.

Jim and I were PhD candidates together at Rice. RIP, Jim. Your students were lucky to have you for so long, not to mention your family.

I have many fond memories of Dr. Jim Teeter. He and my father, Roger Bain, taught geology at the University of Akron together for many years, and I know my dad considers Jim one of his very best friends. Jim was always very kind to my sister and I when we visited my dad's work as children. Later when we were still young teenagers, he taught us how to dance to Reggae music during a Bahamas' field camp trip. We love to hear about the adventures that Jim and our father shared over the years, playing jokes on each other and on their students. His kindness and fun attitude made people love him. I know that Jim touched the lives of numerous students and faculty over his years at the University, and he left each of us a little richer by the experience. He will be greatly missed.

My empathy and sympathy goes out to his daughters, grandchildren, cousins, and other family members, and all of his friends, and students. I was a geology minor at Akron U. May your memories help you, when you think of him, or anyone who has died. It is sad, that we all have to die sometime.

I am very saddened to learn of Jim's passing.

I was a geology student of Dr. Teeter's at the U of A. Jim's influence on generations of students is immeasurable. I am certain I would not be where I am today without his guidance and example. For that and the opportunity to know him I am eternally grateful. He was such a decent, funny and inspiring man; the world is much diminished without him.

My condolences to his family.

Rest in peace, Jim.

Thanks for being a very kind and academically thorough thesis advisor. I was always so appreciative that you respected my need to mother my children while pursuing an advanced degree. I think my children will always remember you, too. You were a great professor whose example I tried to follow when I became a prof.
