Jennie Bedlion Obituary

Jennie Lee Bedlion

Jennie Lee Bedlion, 84, went into the loving arms of Jesus on December 28, 2015, where she reunited with her husband of 43 years, Earnest, her parents and other family members and friends. She was born in Bienville Parish, Louisiana on July 31, 1931 to Henry and Para Lee (Hamm) Vise. There, on a small farm, our mom grew and flourished along with her three siblings. As a young adult, mom and her sister Dorothy went to the big city of Shreveport to find work. It was there, at a Walgreens Drug Store, that she met a young Air Force serviceman from Ohio, whom she later married. After dad's discharge from the Air Force they moved back to Akron, Ohio where they lived until moving to Green. Their family grew to include four daughters, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with one more waiting to be born in January. Earnest and Jennie raised their girls in the Akron Baptist Temple. In later years Jennie attended Temple Baptist Church of Greensburg. Besides being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jennie worked for many years in sales at Montgomery Wards and O'Neil's. She later branched out on her own selling Avon, a successful career that she held for over 43 years.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Para Lee Vise; her devoted husband, Earnest; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Prentice. She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Sandy (Dave) Vasco, Dianne (Fred) Berlin, Debbie Bedlion, Vickie (Jack) Abbott; brother, Billy (Willie Jean) Vise; sister-in-law, Melba Vise; and many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Visitation Saturday from 10 to 12 noon at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, where funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon, with Pastor Dallas Billington officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. For those wishing, memorials may be made in her name to the Temple Baptist Church, P.O. Box 181, Green, Ohio 44232 or City Church AC, 9053 Fairpark Ave., Canal Fulton, OH 44614.

Two young Air Force servicemen, Earnie Bedlion and George Addison, walked into the Shreveport Walgreens Drug Store and met Jennie and Dorothy Vise as a substitute date for two other servicemen.
This was the day that Earnie and George met the loves of their life and as Paul Harvey would say, this is the rest of the story. Jennie and Earnie were wed for 43 years and Dorothy and George were wed for 31 years. Thanks for the Walgreens memory.

Dear Sandy, Dianne, Vickie, Debbie, and families, It is so very hard to lose our mothers, but it is so comforting to know that she is now with our Wonderful Lord, and Earnie, and other loved ones and is now receiving her rewards. We always looked forward to her visits to Louisiana and wished there were not so many miles between. I have great memories of our childhood days and visiting at the "old home place!" Of late, our visits were by phone, and we both enjoyed thinking of the loved ones who were waiting for us.
Jennie was a loving and caring person, and made the world a better place. She will be sorely missed. She was so loved!!!

Jesus said,"Because I live, you shall live also." With love and sympathy,

My Condolences to the girls, their families and friends of Jenny. I hadn't seen Jenny in many years until last year at Rachel's funeral and she was still the very classy lady I remember. My favorite memory is coming to visit, while she lived in Akron with my Aunt and Uncle (Darlene and Dave) and coming home with guppies. There were a lot of memories over the years.

I am sure she is at Peace and she will be remembered by many.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our Aunt Jennie. She was truly a loving lady and the world will be a lesser place without her.
She will be missed.

My fondest memories of Aunt Jennie is going over to her house every Tuesday while I was in nursing school to have lunch with her. She made the best Pea Salad. She was a wonderful Aunt and sadly missed by myself and my children.

To the entire Bedlion Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Remember all the good times, your mom always had a smile for everyone. She will be missed by many, always enjoyed our talks when we would run into her around town. She always treated everyone like family, always enjoyed going to the Bedlion's house when I was younger.

Love
