CHAMPION, OHIO -- John Dudick, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2006 after a lengthy illness.
John was born in Pricedale, Pa., and lived most of his adult years in the Akron and Ellet areas. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace where he worked in the Wheel and Brake Division. He also worked at Tallmadge Spinning and Metal Co. owned by the Sasanecki family when they were located in Tallmadge. He was also a member of the UAW Local 856.
John was an avid fisherman and loved to go with his group of buddies from Goodyear taking his boat and all going up to Canada to fish. Even though from his early childhood he was a victim of polio--it never held him back from being active. He was very independent and a hard worker at whatever he did. It was only a few years ago that his post-polio came back and took a toll on his health that he went to live at the Manor at Autumn Hills in Niles, Ohio and then onto the Windsor House in Champion, Ohio. It was there that he spent his final days.
John belonged to the GBYA when he had his boat, he was a Mason, and a member of St. Nicholas RBO Lodge and the Akron Square Club. He was active in his church--St. Nicholas Orthodox and was one of the original workers of the perogi committee volunteering many long hours of work.
John was preceded in death by his parents of Bel Vernon, Pa., John and Eva Dudick; brothers, Metro and William; and sister, Louise Zureinsky; his first wife, Polly; and stepson, Allyn "Red" Comber. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Dickey) Dudick also at the Windsor House in Champion; his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Sally and Tony Dalessandro of Tallmadge, Ohio; grandsons, Joe and his wife Sheila Dalessandro, of Pensacola, Fla., and Oceana, Va., John and his wife Aleisha Dalessandro, of Chesapeake, Va.; granddaughter Cristina Dalessandro of Akron; great-grandson, Tristen Angelo Dalessandro; and several nieces and nephews in Akron, Pennsylvania, and New York; cousins from Ohio and Pennsylvania along with other family in-laws and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., Akron, Ohio, where a Parastas will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S Cleveland Ave. (S.R. 532), in Mogadore, Ohio, where John will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Fathers Nicholas Wyslutsky and Jonathan Cholcher officiating. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery. Donations in John's memory may be made to The St. Nicholas Cemetery Fund. John was a very dear and close friend of my father Willis Shultz who is now confind to his home at the age of 93. My Dad often recalls wonderful times fishing with John and also having worked with him so many years. at Goodyear Aerospace . John was at the center of so many good stories that my brother still shares with us. . Having spent many hours preparing for and driving to those yearly August Canda fishing trips. Thank you for those "good times. My Dad and family love John and will hold the many precious memories dear. May God bless his soul , please.
Fondly and with our deepest sympathy,
Willis Shultz, Bill Jr.

Dear Dudick Family,
My family extends our sympathy to you. We are the Hurt family, John was the brother of our Aunt Louise Zureinsky. Our memories go to the Easter celebrations honoring our Aunt Louise and Uncle George, attending the blessing of the Easterbaskets. Uncle George always said their Easter always brought nicer weather!
Our parents, Mary and Bill Hurt lived to be 91, we were so blessed to have them so long. They passed away in 1998 for our dad and 200 for our mother.
John was a kind and gentle man never showing any weakness in his live and the challenges it provided. We were all better by having known John.
Blessings to your family.
The Hurt Family, Bill Hurt, Carolyn Hurt Haas and me Merrylou Hurt Windhorst
