John Vercuski Obituary

GySgt. John C. Vercuski

GySgt. John C. Vercuski, USMC, Ret. 70, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Rose Lane Care Center.

He was born March 25, 1938 to the late John and Agnes (Czarnecki) Vercuski in Akron. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1958, served in the Vietnam War and retired from the USMC with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in 1976.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sandra and his sons, Richard of Akron and Scott of Aurora; brother, Phil of Tallmadge and sister Joanne Kovach of Akron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Richard and sister Elaine.

Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, in Rittman. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in John's memory to your favorite charity. (Anthony and Biscan, 330-899-9790, www.kakfh.com)
