Joseph Bellassai Obituary

Our loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, Joseph Bellassai, 89, born June 10, 1921 in Akron, passed away Saturday November 6, 2010.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church since 1957. He graduated from North High School, class of 1939 and the University of Akron in 1947 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Joseph served his country in World War II with the 7th troop Carrier Squadron in Italy. After returning from the Service he was employed by the B.F. Goodrich Company in their engineering department. He later joined the family business, Romito Brothers Electrical Construction Company until his retirement in 1987.

Joseph loved to draw up plans and build. He did this with his own home in the fifties. Later he added an addition for his growing family. After retirement he went on a building spree, adding a garage to his single garage home, drawing up plans for additions to the homes of two local daughters and went to Minnesota to help a daughter with home renovations.

Joseph was a family and God-loving man. He loved his wife, Mary (Romito) and eight children dearly. He often told Mary, ``My cup runneth over.' He adored his grandchildren and taught them that they were special and irreplaceable.
