June Briggs

June Briggs, age 81, of Atwater, died Thursday evening, November 11, 2004, at home, surrounded by her family.

Born No vember 28, 1922, in At water, she was the daughter of the late Ar thur and Etta (Gue) Par shall, and had lived in Atwater all of her life. Mrs. Briggs was proud to be a homemaker for 64 years. She was a member of the Atwater United Methodist Church where she had been secretary of the United Methodist Women and was co-chair of the Rebek ah Circle. June was a member of the Red Hat Society, and was a Granddaughter of the Civil War Veterans.

Survivors include her sons, Ray and wife, Simone Briggs, Hartville, Ron and wife, Pat Briggs, Stow, Gary and wife, Joan Briggs, Las Vegas, Nev., Bob and wife, Sandy Briggs, Clinton, Ohio, Mike Briggs, Atwater; daughter, Lori Briggs, Limaville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. On October 18 of this year, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Raymond "Ray" Briggs; her grandson, James; granddaughter, Gina; and great-granddaughter, Sara, also died previously.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, 703 East Main Street, Raven na. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at the Atwater Unit ed Methodist Church, 6380 Waterloo Road, Atwater, Ohio 44201. Pastor Bill Nicewarner will officiate the services. Interment will be in Atwater Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Atwater United Methodist Church or to Alliance Hospice, 885 Sawburg Road, Alliance, OH 44601. Grandma,



I will miss you dearly... I will miss our chit chats. Not only were you my grandma, but my friend. There are so many things I will remember about you and I will find comfort in remembering all of those things.
