Kenneth I. Gillespie

Kenneth I. Gillespie, 81, died March 28, 2002, after a brief ill ness.

Born Nov. 9, 1920, in Ak ron, Ohio, currently residing in St. Peters burg, Fla., Ken was president of Gillespie- Pilcher Realty Co. and Ken Gillespie Realty & Building Co. He was a real tor, builder, and developer in Akron. Ken was a World War II veteran, and a member of Akron Homebuild ers, Akron Board of Realtors, and American Legion. He was very de voted to his family, and loved trav eling, boating, and bicycling.

He was preceded in death by wife, Harriett J. Gillespie (nee Hartigan), and is survived by brother, Haywood of Ocala, Fla.; sister, Tina Manges of Diamond, Ohio; sons, K. Patrick (Jayne) of Wadsworth, Ohio, James M. (Diane) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Robert H. (Kris) of Brandon, Fla.; daughters, Donna M. Stalnaker (Bill) of Cuyahoga Falls, Margaret A. Sofran (Gene) of Valrico, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Ciriello Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St., Chaplain Jim Hostetler officiating. Inter ment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 E. Bay Dr., Largo, Fla. 33770, in Mr. Gillespie's name.
