Laverna Hajdu Obituary
On April 4, 2009 God gained an Angel in Laverna Jeanne Hajdu.
Jeanne was born on November 15, 1940 in Kerrville, Texas to Doyle and Jonnie Landreth. She attended the Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas and worked for Texaco. She was very proud to work for The Texas Industrial Commission at the Capitol Building, in Austin, Texas and for fashion designer, Victor Costa, in Dallas, Texas. She held many other positions over the years, but none more rewarding to her than being a wife to Rich Hajdu and mother to Hayden and Holly Hajdu.
Jeanne was an artist who could imitate the finest Van Gogh, create a stained glassed window of a forest, or sing your favorite song with intricate key changes or converse with you on the stories of the Bible. She loved people the most and made everyone's life better with her love and ability to make everyone know just how important they were to her.
She was most proud to be a grandmother, "Gi-Gi", to Hadley and Davis Hajdu. She could be found most days in her home, either taking care of those kids, getting ready to take care of them, or out shopping for something they probably didn't need, but would love to have.
Jeanne and her family also enjoyed traveling. She was fortunate enough to see the mountains of Japan, the countryside of Italy, enjoy the bistros of Paris, the daylong winters of Stockholm, the prairies of the United States and many other places most people only dream about.
She had the quickest wit, an infectious laugh and a million little jokes up her sleeve. She will be dearly missed by the many, many lives she touched.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Landreth. She is survived by husband of 38 years, Richard Hajdu; her mother, Jonnie Landreth; her brother, Larry Landreth, her sister, Judy McCreight; son, Hayden (Jennifer); and daughter, Holly. "Gi-Gi" will be missed greatly by her grandchildren, Hadley and Davis Hajdu. She will also be missed by her family and the many friends she made over the years.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 10, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Grace Church, Bath Campus, 754 Ghent Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Haven of Rest Ministries.
