Leila D. DeVoe, 75, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 22, 2008.
She was born December 29, 1932 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to the late Elbert and Clara Hostetler. Mrs. DeVoe was a longtime faithful member of the Bethel Mennonite Church. She retired from Wadsworth Health Care Center as a Nurses Aide after 20+ years of service. She was very proud of being a member of the Women's Club at Menwa that made dolls for orphans.
She is survived by her husband, Paul DeVoe, with whom she would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on July 20; daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Jeffrey Matye, Ivy and John Baisden, Carol and Scott Garner; son, Tom DeVoe; and grandchildren, Steven, David, Brandon, Amanda, Jessica, Casey, and Taz, all of Wadsworth. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandson due in October 2008. She is also survived by her brother, Eldon Hostetler; sisters, Wilma Phelps, Margie Swartzen-durber, and Vada Clemens. She was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Reed.
The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Ramsey Wallace officiating.
