Leonard J. Baker Sr.

Leonard J. Baker Sr., 67, of Streetsboro, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at his Florida residence in New Port Ri chey.

Born June 21, 1935, in Portage, Pa., he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Politsky) Baker. Mr. Baker had lived in Streetsboro for the past 40 years. He retired in 1994 from Ford Motor Co. in Walton Hills, where he worked as a forklift operator. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and was a lifetime member of the Streetsboro V.F.W. He enjoyed camping, fish ing, and golfing. He was also a U.S. Army veteran from Korea.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 1/2 years, Sylvia (Talento) Bak er; loving sons, Leonard J. Baker Jr. of Streetsboro, Kenneth G. Baker of Streetsboro, Gregory M. Baker of Columbia, S.C., and Clark A. Baker of Cleveland, Ohio; grandaughter, Samantha Baker; brothers, Mickey (Veronica) Baker-Summerhill, Pa.; nephews, David (Ruth) Baker, Mark (Joyce) Baker, Danny (Ellen) Baker, and Michael (Irene) Baker. He was preceded in death by brother, Syl vester Baker, in 1992.

Calling hours 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Shorts Funeral Homes, Inc., 9781 Page Rd., Streetsboro. Funeral mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro, Ohio. (Shorts, 330-296-6858.)
