Levert Griffin Obituary
Levert went home to the Lord after a brief journey with illness over the past year.
He is survived by his children, Father Martin de Porres (Lamar) Griffin, Levert (Pierre) Veal, Kelli Veal, Farryn Veal; eight grandchildren; siblings, Levell Griffin, Arthurann Roper, Ernestine Roper, Joseph Roper, and Kenneth Roper.
A memorial service celebrating his life and going home will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 1130 Mercer Avenue, Akron, Father Martin de Porres Griffin will preside.

As I cared for Levert during the recent months of his illness I always wished I could have known him as a well man. His perseverance and ability to smile through his difficult days intrigued me. I know he was blessed by those of you who allowed him to stay out of the hospital through his dying days. My thoughts are with all of his friends and family. Sincerely,
