Lucy Barnwell Easlick
Lucy Barnwell Easlick, wife of David K. Easlick, formerly chairman of the board and president of Michigan Bell Tele phone Co., died on Dec. 30, 2004, at Waltonwood Assisted Living Center in Rochester Hills, Mich. Mrs. Easlick died at the age of 82 after seven years of suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. She was the daughter of Mr. Elliott Habersham Barnwell and Lucy Thomas Barnwell, and was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1922.
She attended Old Trail School in Akron before moving to Ann Arbor, Mich., where she gradu ated from University High School in 1940. She attended the University of Michigan and was affiliated with Collegiate Sorosis Sorority.
She married David Kenneth Easlick in 1942 and moved with him 23 times before settling in Grosse Pointe Farms and Naples, Fla. She was a member of the Grosse Pointe Club, the Country Club of Detroit, Royal Poinciana Country Club in Naples, and the Naples Yacht Club. She was active with her husband, volunteering for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro politan Detroit, the Detroit Op era Theater, the Heart of Gold Luncheon, and the Rose Hill Center in Holly. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed bridge, bowling, and swimming.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001, and is survived by her children, David K. Easlick Jr. (Catherine) of Richmond, Va., Susan Easlick Heinen (Gerhard) of Grosse Pointe Park, and Anne Easlick of Ortonville, Mich.; six grand children, Christoph, Alexander, Maximilian, and Marta Heinen, and Sarah and David Easlick. She is also survived by her sister, Sally Barnwell Cherry of Akron, Ohio; nephews, William E. Wetterau of North Royalton, Ohio, John B. Webberau (Reid) of Brush Prairie, Wash., and Sally Lockhart of North Royal ton, Ohio.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m., at Christ Church Grosse Pointe in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. The body will be cremated.
