My sympathy goes out to Luke's family and friends during this tragic time. Luke was a very kind hearted person whom I only had the pleasure of knowing for a short amount of time. He will be missed dearly at the University. Rest in peace, Luke.

So very sorry to hear of this tragedy. I never met Luke but if he was anything like his Dad, and I know he was, he will be terribly missed but never forgotten.

I sat right next to Luke in one of my classes this semester. Although I only knew him briefly, I am torn to pieces by his passing. It is no surprise to me that he would selflessly save a friend of his. I know he would have done this for anyone. Luke was an extremely nice person. He had a hilarious laugh that was so contagious. He always showed a genuine interest in the topics in class, and would always ask the professor difficult and engaging questions. I will certainly miss him, and strive to be more like Luke in many aspects of my life.

We remember Luke as the young boy who played in the field across from our house on Revere road in Richfield. He was so pleasant and happy. The obituary said he found the Good Lord, I wonder if it wasn't the other way around.
The Good Lord knows the real special people on this planet and I think He goes out and finds them. There is no doubt Luke fits that category.
The story of the Good Thief only appears in one of the four gospels of Our Lord's passion. It is the one written bu Luke. Must be something special in that name. Mike and Tammy named him approbiately.
God Bless you Luke

Luke, I need to say thank you for being my son's best friend. Dominic will miss your texts, phone calls, but most of all the Friday evenings at Starbucks playing chess. You had a dream. To kayak the Mississippi River and spoke often of this to Dominic. He has vowed, that one day, he will certainly kayak this adventure in your honor. Words cannot express how very sad this community is for losing such an inspiration to our young adults and youth. The Cart Family

Dearest friends,
What a terrible loss! I read about the accident but didn't connect the name until I read today that you were his mother,Tammy. Please accept our most prayerful sympathy, although we would not have been able to express it in person because of some health issues and just having been released from the hospital.
I remember the delightful evening we spent when Luke visited us and talked about River Styx, horses, his grandparents and his parents. He was a special young man and one whom others will want to emulate. There can be no greater legacy than that.
Our prayers will continue for you, your extended family and the repose of his soul. We can't think of a harder pain to endure.

To Mike and the whole Collins family, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. Having met Luke recently, I was struck by what a fine young man he was. Although he has been called to a higher purpose, it leaves a void and heavy hearts in the rest of us. For myself and everyone at Bertolini's, I pray the memory of the good life he lived will give you some comfort.

To me, Luke was an angel walking among us here on earth. The debates always got him fired up, you knew he had a passion for political agendas, and our chess matches, even though I beat him 99.99999% of the time he always wanted to play one more game, he did eventually beat me one time. Although he'd claim to have won more than that, but I'll let him have that. I will miss you,but I promise I'll never forget you. Thank you for being the true definition of a friend, brother and all around great soul. Antonio S. Kelly

I had the privilege of playing basketball with Luke at the Wadsworth Y. He had taken a class with my son, Thad in High school We snapped a selfie and sent it to my son. My son got to play chess with him the night before the accident and Luke passed on some sound advise that I know my son won't forget. Our hearts grieve but I know Luke's faith and conversations with many will never be lost. We will miss you Luke and will pray for your parents strength.

Words can't express the sorrow I feel for you Tammy. He learned his selflessness and kindness from you and his hard work ethic and love of knowledge from his father. Be forever proud of your son and keep his memories close to your heart. I am here for you always and forever.
