Sr. Vincentia was my favorite teacher at St. V's. Like Steve Johnson, I graduated in '65. I used to love the way she would quote Peanuts cartoons on our exam papers - "Auugh!" when you made a dumb error. She was in large part responsible for my going into math and science. My condolences to her family.

Sr. Vincentia was my math teacher at Akron St. Vincent High School (I was in the class of 1965.). This diminutive nun commanded respect in her classes but not by fear. She made learning fun and was very patient with her students, delighting just as much as the students when a problem was solved or the students finally "got it." She was famous for two phrases. When a proof is completed, the students put q.e.d. (quod erat demonstrata) at the end, but Sr. Vincentia insisted that it really meant "quite easily done!" Also, if a student would complain about how difficult a problem or assignment was, she would simply say, "As they say at 'Hahvad,' life is 'hahd'."
I have often thought fondly of Sr. Vincentia over the years. Although she is gone, she will continue to remain in my thoughts.

Sister Vincentia was one of my alltime favorite teachers at St. Vincent High School (Class of 1953). Memories of her Spanish classes remain with me to this day. May she rest in peace.
