Michael Kerlik Obituary
Mr. Michael Kerlik, III, age 47, of Sugar Hill, Ga. and formerly of Akron, Ohio passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 23, 2007.
He was a devoted husband and father and always made his family a priority. He loved his job and co-workers with H. H. Gregg Co. and his friends. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Kerlik; and mother-in-law, Judy Bailey. He is survived by his wife, of 26 years Mrs. Karen Bailey Kerlik, Sugar Hill, Ga; daughters, Melissa Kerlik, Sugar Hill, Ga., Brittany Kerlik, Sugar Hill, Ga.; father, Michael Kerlik, Jr., Akron, Ohio; brother and sister-n-law, Matthew Scott and Judy Kerlik, Akron, Ohio; nephew, Aaron Kerlik; niece, Randi Graham; great-niece, Alyssa Graham; brother-n-law and sister-n-law, Bruce and Kathy Bailey, Akron, Ohio; father-n-law, Bobby Bailey, Akron, Ohio; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends and his dog C.J.
Mr. Kerlik was born April 10, 1960 in Akron, Ohio. He was a 1978 graduate of Ellet High School, Akron, Ohio and a 1980 graduate of the University of Akron, Ohio where he received his Associate Degree in Sale Marketing. He was employed with the H.H. Gregg Company in Atlanta, Ga. and was vice president of sales and store operations in the Southern Division. He was an avid boater. He was a member of the Saint Mary Orthodox Church, Akron, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Christensen and Rev. Paul Stoll officiating. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. ARRANGEMENTS BY Junior E. Karen,Im truly sorry to hear about Mike. I hadnt seen him or talked to him in acouple of years but I think about him and remember him as a person who added value to other peoples lives and will always remember him as a friend,Sincerily Joe Murray.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. It has been a many years since we were classmates, but I recall many memorable lunches with Mike, and others, in the Hyre cafeteria. He was a very friendly person with a great sense of humor. You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

Although I never had the honor of working with Mr. Kerlik, I met him several times and I know that he has made an impact on anybody's lives he touched. He will always be remembered.

I have had the honor and pleasure of having been lucky enough to learn many lessons both in regards to business as well as life in general, from Mike. I proudly consider Mike to be one of my Hero's...without his confidence in my abilities, I quite literally, would not be where I am today. He is fondly remembered and deeply missed. I had the privilege of working for Mike when he first joined hh Gregg. He was the most inspirational manager that I had ever worked for. He expected much, but gave back even more. I knew Mike always had my best interest at heart. Mike always walked the walk, he never said anything that he didn't follow through on. I still follow his inspirational saying to "trust but verify." Even though I hadn't seen Mike in years his lessons will always be with me. He helped me to become a better person. You will be missed.

I had the opportunity of working with Mike @ HH G from the time you moved to Atlanta as I was the HHG account rep for Beneficial...We shared a great business relationship & many lunch's & laughs as well, he often spoke of you & his girls....He affectionately referred to me as MR CLEAN...My deepest sympathy's to you & your family....he was a good friend & will be missed......cc

Although I only had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Kerlik for little over a year, I admired him greatly. He treated everyone he met with the utmost respect, and he had the respect of everyone he came in contact with. HHG will not be the same without his smiling face and his great sense of humor. All of the Kerlik family are in my prayers.Cherish his memories forever. I know I will miss him but will remember him fondly forever.

I had the honor of working with Mr.Kerlik at HHGREGG. It was always such a delight to see him come walking thru the stores doors. He could always put a smile on anyone's face no matter what their mood may be. He will be greatly missed.

I was saddened to hear the news of your tragic loss. Like many others, it brought back some fond memories growing up. Early on, I remember his effort with the Muscular Dystrophy Carnival and his ability to make us laugh with Hans and Fritz. I also remember when he hit his tooth doing chin ups in Mr. Lucachik's gym class. While the years have passed, I still wanted to express my condolences to you and your family. Karen and Kids-Jane and I were shocked to hear about Mike and our hearts go out to you all at this tragic time. We had so many Fantastic vacations together from Florida to Vegas as the kids grew up. Our only regrets now are that we allowed time and jobs to get in our way of continuing those fun times we spent together each year after the fall of Sun TV. I will remember you "Baba" for all those Fantastic Kerlickism's and the one that stands out to be most all these years -"Never let them see you Sweat"! Thanks for all you did for me my mentor!

We were devastated when we heard the news. Butch will always be in our hearts. His kindness, total devotion to his family and friends, just touches the surface on the type of individual that he was. I am deeply sorry to hear about Butch. My heart goes out to Mike and to Scott. Butch and I were childhood playmates. We walked to school together and spent many hours in each others yards. Butch always had a big heart and I will never forget the year he sponsered the Muscular Dystrophy Carnival . We had not seen or spoken in many years but he was and will always be part of my early memories . God Bless his family.

Mike,Matt, and family. My deepest sympathy. I was very shocked and sadden. We grew up as children togather and then we go our different ways. Mike and the whole family were great friends to myself and my family and I will never forget any of you. Mike did love his family and made sure he took good care of them. He will be missed by many.
