Neal Cummings Obituary
Neal Cummings Jr., age 89, passed peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017.
Neal was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He retired from Chrysler with 30 years of service, retiring in 1990. Neal enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling and working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Marie Cummings; brother, James Merritt; his grandson, Clifford Cummings Jr.; and great- grandson, Javonni Conley. Neal is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons, Clifford Cummings and Harold (Loralie) Cummings; daughters, Margie Young, Denise (John) Whatley, Sheila (Danny) Solomon, Jennifer Riley (fiance Thuries McMillan) and Traci Grice; brothers, Moses (Eloise) Merritt and Alex (Sherry) Merritt; sister, Clara Cargill; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 12 noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1180 Slosson St., Akron, OH 44320, Pastor William C. Bunton eulolgizing. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1212 Greenwood Ave., Akron, OH 44320.
