Olga Ryan Obituary
She was born January 27, 1917, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Stephen and Rosalie Popovich Lekich. Olga was a nurse's aide for 27 years at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, retiring in 1979.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Pat Ryan of Wadsworth, and Art Carpenter of Ashland; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and John Campbell of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Olga was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Herman Ryan, whom she married December 4, 1947; he passed away on May 27, 2004. A daughter, Rosalie, a sister, Dorothy and a brother and sister who died during the 1918 flue epidemic are also deceased.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 29 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Akron, with Rev. Robert Ralston officiating. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton. The family requests that memorials be made in Olga's memory to the First Presbyterian Church, North Lisbon St., Carrollton, or the Carroll County Hospice, Trump Road, Carrollton.
