To the Thompson Family my deepest sympathy. I just found out about our fallen angel. Phillip lived across the street from my brother and his wife. That was three years ago. When my brother and his family moved I didn't get to see him as often, until I had to go to the DHS one morning. To see his face made me feel really good. Mrs. Thompson I have so much respect for you. You raised a fine young man. He was a positive role model, very respectful, and most of all out-going and responsible. I truly believed the Lord blessed us with "Bitty". We need more individuals like him. Especially black males. He is "TRULY" missed. I think back to if I hadn't got the chance to meet him. "No one" I know for a fact can say that his was not a good person. "WE LOVE YOU BITTY". Words aren't enough to explain how much I will miss you. From our family to yours. May God Bless You All. We will continue to pray for you all please, do the same for us.

I write to thank you. Thank you for allowing me the chance to meet such a wonderful person if only for a while. Bitty always brought a smile to my face and placed laughter in my heart. He always had a smile and a heart of joy to share with anyone. I can rarely recall a time when I didn't see a smile on his face. I still see him walking down the street towards my mom's house to visit (smilin' as he was walkin'). That smile! He will be greatly missed. Our prayers are continually with you.

September 8, 2002

Bitty was someone that I breifly knew and someone that my boyfriend Fred had knew since his highschool days. And although the time span of both of us knowing him was different we both can say that he was truly a genuine person. And although we need more good people like him on earth, they also need them in heaven! So please, all the family and close friends who are hurting right now, please know that Bitty is smiling on us right now waiting for us all to come join him one day. And now everytime the sun shines on us we will know that its Bitty smiling!

TO THE THOMPSON FAMILY,

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME.

I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH PHIL FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS AT UPS. HE TAUGHT ME HOW TO DO MY JOB AND HE WAS A VERY GOOD TEACHER.

DURING THE TIME THAT I HAVE KNOWN PHIL, HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF THE NICEST, FRIENDLIEST,HAPPIEST PEOPLE WHOM I HAVE EVER KNOWN.WHENEVER I WAS FEELING DOWN OR HAVING A BAD DAY, HE ALWAYS HAD A WAY OF MAKING ME SEE THE BRIGHT SIDE OF THINGS AND WOULD ALWAYS GET ME TO LAUGH.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS SMILE AND MOST OF ALL HIS LAUGHTER.WHENEVER I WOULD HEAR HIM,I WOULD LAUGH TOO. TO BE AROUND HIM WAS TO ENJOY LIFES JOYS AND LITTLE PLEASURES.

I WILL MISS HIM TERRIBLY AND LIFE JUST WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM.

PHIL,

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, I WILL MISS YOU AND THINK OF YOU FONDLY. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOU ALWAYS SAID TO TRY AND LOOK FOR THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS SEEM.

FLY HIGH, BRIGHTEST ANGEL, YOU ARE AMONG THE BEST.

Dear Mrs. Thompson, I am sending my deepest sympathy. You may not remember me personally, but I'm sure you remember my face, the same as Bitty did. I am sister Eleanor Hollis' niece and while growing up went to church with her family many times. And Bitty remembered that. Whenever I had to go to human services, he'd always speak to me and we'd chat about things from different church functions that I attended with Lisa Hollis. He was always kind and could light up a room with his smile. I feel blessed for having known such a great person, a person who was blessed to have a mother like you. May you receiving more blessings from everyone in your life.

To Bitty (Phil)My words are lost and I don't think my words can ever express or explain how I feel. You were more to me than anyone will ever know. Your smile, your eyes, and your laughter has made me know that no matter where you are you are always there. I know some day soon we will be back together to enjoy each others company again. I pray for you and ask that you see you were very well loved. You are in my heart as well as so many others who will never forget what joy you have brought to so many hearts. I am hurt and my Labor Day will never be the same. I pray for your family and hope that they will be strong through this. There are so many questions that I know I will never get any answers for but, I know some day I will see you again. With all my love,

A message to Phil:

Phil, you finally got the last word! We both know that I always won the debates we would have. But while you are doing YOUR THANG, I'll be keeping my mind sharp for our next bout!

You were a sweet, sensitive, gentle guy who's presence will truly be missed by many. I know you're probably watching over us and are getting a kick out of how sadly missed you are, but I guess that's all right, a lot of people cared.

You may have some regrets now or wish you had said or done certain things before your sudden departure, but know that the time you invested in your family and loved ones was enough to express to them what they meant to you. Continue to watch over your children and loved ones in an ANGELIC way to guide them through the tough times that will lie ahead.

So Mr. Thompson, I guess this is TTFN until our paths cross again!
