Randy Rains Obituary
Randy J. Rains passed suddenly Monday night.
Randy was 67 and a lifelong resident of Akron and a graduate of Kenmore High School, class of 1965. He spent his career in the transportation industry and retired from the A. Schulman Company. Randy will be sadly missed and remembered most for his incredible love for his family and friends. Randy especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many events that they were involved in. He also loved the Lord and attended Grace Brethren Church in Fairlawn. Although your journey was long and sometimes difficult, we know you are now in the care of our Lord and we will think of you daily until we meet again.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Edna Rains.
He is survived by his wife/partner/friend, Ellen Rains; children, Todd (Kelly) Rains, Matt (Anna) Rains, Amy (Derek) Sivy; grandchildren, Logan, Jarred, Owen, Lundyn, Delaney, Ivan, Cora, Faith, Wes, Tessa; brother, Sid (Cynthia) Rains; sisters, Reba (Dana) Holliday, Sandra (Guy) Zimbardi; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Barbara of Kentucky.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 1:30 to 4 p.m., where a service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 in memory of Randy. I'm very sorry for your loss. I always Enjoyed chatting with Mr. Rains at the numerous sporting events for all of his grandkids. He will be missed but I'm certain he'll still be watching all those games.
