My brother Raymond was very special to me and I loved him so much and I am really going to miss him. He was a very comical person and would always make me laugh. Everyone that knew him can remember something funny he said or did. I’ll never forget when I was a little girl, Raymond would always pick at me, and then run away. When he would run, I would pick up things to throw at him and he’d start hollering because I would never miss. Then I would end up getting a whoopin’ and cry. He would come up to me looking all serious and say “I’ll give you a dime if you stop crying.” I just wanted to hit him again instead of taking his old dime. The next day he would pick at me again. Alonzo would tease me and say he didn’t know what I did, but when Raymond would run from me and turn a corner, no matter what I threw at him would also turn a corner and hit him-- just like in the cartoons!

I love all of my family. We were blessed to have him in our lives, and now we have precious memories and the comfort of knowing that his suffering is no more. He is safe in the arms of Jesus.

“Safe In the arms of Jesus,
Safe on his gentle breast,
Thereby his love o’ershaded
Sweetly my soul shall rest”

Rest in peace, Raymond -- I love you.

To the Family,
I remeber Raymond, back when his hair was jet black and he stood strong and tall. every time I saw him he was headed to work or looking for work to do. I remeber one day when my grandpa Willie and I gave Raymond a ride to a church he was helping to build that memory stayed with me and reminds me as how a christian man is to work even while others may slumber and lounge and with GOD no project is too large. I'm really BLESSED that I came along when I did. I had you and Walter Sr., Doug and Dwight who have gone too soon and a family of strong proud men as my big brothers who didn't know they would be my examples. and because of your walks in Christ I and so many others have a proven pathway to Make Heaven our Home. GOD BLESS YOU faithful warrior and while you closed your eyes in pain you opened them in glory and I'm sure you'll wear a Crown. Rev.Michael Gulley-Grays

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

My Daddy was such a wonderful, loving and caring father. To me he was the world! I feel like my heart has been ripped in half. We were very close and I miss him dearly. Having him as a father has taught me to lean not on my own understanding of things, but to completely trust in the Lord to direct my path. My memories of my Daddy include him taking me out on my first date; where he showed me how a man is suppose to treat me and not to accept anything less in the man I would choose to be my husband. Daddy taught me how to use a hammer and assisted me in many wood projects. I remember him being at my high school track meets, encouraging me to take first place; which I did. My father and I loved one another so very much. He was always concerned about my world. He loved my husband, Rick and my boys, Donovan and Ryan. He was especially proud to have greatgrandsons: Nasier (3) and Karter (1).
Knowing that my father is no longer suffering and that he is up in Heaven asking God, "Are you sure you don't want me to fix anything up here?" has helped me to cope with this very stressful time.
My Earthy Father is now with my Heavenly Father.
I would like to publically thank each and every one of you for all your acts of kindness. My Father would have been pleased. To my friends, you have really shown me love during this most difficult year of my entire life. I love and appreciate ALL of YOU!
