Richard Burchett Obituary
He was born February 10, 1946 in Akron. Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, an avid golfer, and a proud Vietnam veteran. He served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Unit, and retired from the U.S. Navy with 23 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Janet, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sue; children, Diane Harris and Dan (Lauren) Nelson; and grandchildren, Christopher and Xander.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton, with Steve Hardin officiating. Military graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, Ohio 44270. Sue...and Family...I want you to know How much I will miss Richard..I have never met anyone quite like him and above all I will miss his gentle warmth and energy. My heart just breaks for your loss. Just know Sue you have the most special place in my heart and so does Richard and he always will

I loved my dad very much and will miss him greatly. He was a very important part of my life and now a part of me will never be the same without him here. I will miss calling him with repair questions and advice on life choices. He was always there for me. I am grateful I had the time I did with such a great man in my life. I will miss him dearly.
