Robert Lorenz Obituary
Robert Metcalf "Rocky" Lorenz, 62, passed away May 22, 2015 after battling a rare form of cancer.
Rocky, a lifetime resident of Akron, worked as a registered nurse and was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Amy Lorenz; he is survived by his children, Erin (Scott) West, Benjamin (Chrissy), Jacob (Kelly) and Samuel (Andrea) Lorenz; grandchildren, Averiana, Austin and Abigail West, Mason and Allyson Lorenz; former wife and friend, Susan Lorenz; sister, Suzanne (Thomas) Herbener; nephews and niece, Timothy, Stephen, Peter, Grace and Daniel Herbener.
Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., TUESDAY, from 12 to 2 and 4 to 5 p.m. when the service to celebrate Rocky's life will begin at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Rocky was a wonderful, fun and adventuresome childhood friend of mine on Mineola Ave. I will always hold a smile of and for him for the rest of my life. Rest in peace, my friend. And peace to his loved ones.
