Robert Moorehead Obituary

Robert E. "Bob" Moorehead, 90, died at home on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, with his family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Moorehead is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia Moorehead; sons, Larry and wife Sharon, Jeff and wife Sue, Fred and wife Charlene, Mike and wife Karen; and daughters, Pat and husband Mike Long; grandchildren, Monica, Andrea, Brandi, Kathy, Laura, Freddie, TJ, Julie, Desiree, Marissa, Jennifer and Jessica; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Moorehead was born on May 24, 1922, in Akron, Ohio. He married Virginia, his childhood sweetheart, on Aug. 4, 1943. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. The couple raised their family in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They moved to the Houston area in 1969, and had lived in the South Belt area since 1993.

Moorehead spent 35 years in the auto repair industry in Ohio. After moving to Houston, he was the owner of Bob's Campers for 23 years before retiring.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster.
