Mr. Hahn was born on June 19, 1940, to the late John and Julia Kohler Hahn, in Wads-worth, grew up farming, and graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1958. Ron then started his 37 years with the Wadsworth Post Office, where he served as county and district president of the Ohio Rural Letter Carriers Association He was also a member of the State and National Rural Letter Carriers Association. He was a volunteer fireman for 12 years and served as president of the Fireman's Association, bowling league, and golf league. He was also a member of the Barberton Moose, NARFE, Wadsworth Zoning Board, Patriotic Committee and Alumni Association, German American Club, and German Family Society. Ron never met a stranger, and enjoyed his yard, garden, family, golf, bowling, classic cars, playing cards, polka dancing, and traveling.
Mr. Hahn is survived by wife, Gladys; children, Tam-my Miller and husband, Tom, Greg, Doug and wife, Jean-etta; stepdaughter, Sherry Sigmond and husband, Frank; brothers, Larry and Gary; sister, Joanne Choban; eight grandchldren from oldest to youngest, Stephie, Brian, Christopher, Joshua, Brad, Ben, Gwendalyn, and Nathan; three great-grandchildren, Leah, Blake, and Julia. In addition to immediate family, there are many extended family members and friends who will remember Ron as a caring and funny man. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John (Sonny).
The family would like to thank everyone at Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman, the class of 1958, and all who supported Ron and those who continue to support our family. May the memory of Ron leave you with a smile.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m., Pastor Keith D. Hejnal officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman. (Hilliard & Mullaney, 330-334-1501.)

Uncle Ronald!! wow there was never words to describe him! but that he was an amazing brother,dad,grandpa,and uncle. i remember me and my mom where walking into wlamart and there he was standing there and getting out of his motor thingy. and i go o well look who it is . and i swear he got a huge smile and i gave him a hug and he was perfectly able to get around and everything and that was 2 weeks before he died. and i told my mom the day that he dies i want her to call me out of school. and she never did and then i remember he coming home and i was sitting here on the computer and she said jess i need to talk to u. and i thought i was in trouble. and soo i went and sat down on the couch and shes like jess uncle ronald died today . and my mouth just dropped. and i started crying. and my mom held me and i cryed for about 10 mins. and then she said lets go see glades and so we got ready and got in the car and we went over just talking about him i would get teary eyed and just wanna break down and i couldnt handle it. and then we came home and i started doing my homework and i just lost it i was crying and everything. and then i went to school and cryed again. and i just knew that at his funeral i would cry. and we had gotten there and we went in for jsut family and we went in with Greg and as soon as i stepped foot in the door i just cryed and i went and hugged the boys chris and josh and me nad chris hugged for a while and cryed.and we went to the funeral the next day and i just remember thinking that i was cryed out and thinking i wasnt going to cry anymore and as soon as i got past glades and hugged greg i just lost it after i hugged chris. and i took one last look at my uncle at the picture and i had said my goodbye.I remember all the times we had with him. and hanging out in the basement with the boys and my brother. and playing pinball. i miss him soo much theres not a day that goes by that i dont think about him and i love him soo much

I am so so sorry to hear about Mr. Hahn. I am so sorry that I was not able to make it there for you. I was out of the country and just got home yesterday and read about it. What a SHOCK it was! Sorry to lose an old friend. We shared a common interest in cars, and Ron was very knowledgeable about the autos of our era. Irene used to pick strawberries on the old family farm. Very sorry for your loss.
