Rosa Elizabeth Davidson "MeMe" went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2006.
She was born on November 18, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Will Palmer and Susie Palmer-Paschal. Rosa moved to Akron in 1937 and married the late Hezekiah Davidson, Sr. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 40 years, later united with Friendship Baptist Church and worshipping with Arlington Church of God. Rosa was a member of The Daughter of Isis 144, was an Akron Public Schools crossing guard and a foster-grandparent.
Rosa was preceded in death by husband, Hezekiah Sr.; sons, James and Hezekiah Jr.; parents, Will Palmer and Susie Palmer Paschal; stepfather, William Paschal; and son-in-law, Henry Reed. She is survived by stepmother, Mattie Paschal; daughters, Elizabeth Reed, Rose (Dr. Arthur) Kemp; sister-in-law, Mable Davidson; grandchildren, Garland Reed, Shannon (Harvey) Bryant, Donna (Orlando) Gardner of Canton, Troy (Aquanita) Davidson of Cleveland, Hezekiah M. Davidson, Kelly (Stanford) Hoisten of Columbus, Michaud and Michaulis Crawford; seven great-grandchildren; special friend, Frances Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 24, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Arlington Church of God, 539 S. Arlington St., Akron, OH 44306, Rev. Dr. Diana Swoope officiating, and where friends may call from 12 Noon until service time. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Friends may also call at the funeral hone, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 7 until 9 p.m. The Daughter of Isis 144 will hold a service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Procession will form at 1134 Welton Avenue. Condolences may be sent to 1134 Welton Ave., Akron, OH. 44306 and 980 Carlysle St., Akron, OH. 44310.
The family would like to thank the 4th floor ICU Staff at Akron City Hospital, Dr. Makkar and Dr. Fuenning, AHOPES Assisted Living Facility, Arlington Church of God, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and the Stewart and Calhoun Funeral Home.
