Dr. Sherman D. Vander Ark, 68, went to sing in God's heavenly choir on May 1, 2009, after a courageous battle against cancer, he died peacefully at home with his family by his side.
This obituary was previously printed in the ABJ on Monday, May 4, 2009. Burial took place at Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron on May 5, 2009. Arrangements by Adams Mason Funeral Home. Friends are invited to join the family at a memorial service on Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m. at Grace Brethren Church, Burbank Rd. in Wooster. Following the service will be a Meal of Comfort, also at the church. Cards and remembrances may be sent to the family in care of Adams Mason Funeral Home, 791 E. Market St., Akron OH 44305.
