Sylvia A. Kenaley

1930 - 2020

) Sylvia Kenaley at age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2020. She was born on November 2, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to the late Daniel and Genevra Kissel. Sylvia was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and her son, Dennis. Sylvia will be dearly missed by her son, Doug (Karen) Kenaley; daughter, Christine (Dave) Talbott; grandchildren: Carolyn (Bill), Jennifer (Sergio), Joy (Callen), Mark (Sarah) and David; great-grandchildren: Christian, McKenzie, Roscoe, Evangeline, Eleanor, Liam and Kaileen. Sylvia enjoyed her long career at The University of Akron as a secretary, retiring at 69. She was a dedicated Christian, serving in ministry at Grace Baptist Church, celebrating life. Sylvia enjoyed hosting gatherings of friends and family at her home. She took pride in gardening and received an award for the landscaping in her yard. Sylvia displayed a servant heart by helping her neighbors and treating friends like family. She was very generous, and loved to help her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sylvia loved to swim and boat. She often watched football (in her Browns jersey!) and other sports. Friends are welcome to visit on Wednesday, December 16, from 10 a.m. until the start of the 11:30 service at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron 44305.
