Tove Logan Obituary
Tove Logan
1946 - 2014
Tove Logan of Springfield passed away peacefully Sept. 1 at RiverBend of natural causes surrounded by family and friends. She was born Nov. 20, 1946 to Ivan and Mary Line in Eugene. She was a Christian and we're sure she's with the Lord now.
She loved needlepoint, crafts, sewing and gardening; in later years camping and cabins on the McKenzie River. As a single mother, she took in many troubled teens as foster children and got many of them on the right path to life - she would help anyone who needed someone to talk to or somewhere to stay this included Jim "J.J." Jones, who was a loving son to the end. Tove never met a person she didn't like and they all loved her because she had a heart as big as Texas. She suffered with much pain the last few years, but always kept a stiff upper lip and didn't complain. She was called a "tough old bird".
Tove was preceded in death by her husband, George James Logan, who was a kind and loving husband, a father and Veteran, her parents Ivan and Mary, and her only sister Sharon Petty.
She is survived by the two daughters: Marjorie Stiltner and Tammy Logan, both from Ontario, OR; two nieces: Donna Sue and Mindy of Florence; four grandchildren: Mathew, Jacob, Rebeka, and James; and her first grandson Jeramiah and she was very proud of all of them. Also Karen Morris, her part-time care provider and full-time friend of the last four years; and Steve Predoehl, her life partner and best friend of ten years, who loved and cared for her to the very end.
In December, she went on her first plane trip, cruise and first trip to Mexico, and enjoyed two beautiful days in Cabo San Lucas with Steve.
This is after she said she'd never set foot on a plane and on the way home said "this is the only way to travel." Tove lived a very happy life. She will be truly missed and loved by her family, friends and the many lives she may have touched.
Any donations could be made to any Veteran's organization.
