Willard Shropshire, Jr., "Hucklebuck", passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019.
Service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 12 p.m., at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service. Condolences may be sent to 18024 Sorrento St., Detroit, MI 48235.

My prayers and condolences to Willie's family.
In junior high and high school we knew him as Willie.
We were on the wrestling team together. I was an 85 pound little guy and Willie was a man-child! One day at Goodyear Jr Hi, three guys cornered me in the hallway and started harassing me about being a tough wrestler. Out of nowhere my teammate, Willie Shropshire, stepped in front this little white guy and said, If you want him, you have to go through me first. Needless to say they left very quickly!
He was the kindest nicest guy who looked out for his friends and teammates. I have thought about him often.
I am so sad for you all. You are in my prayers!

On February 1, 2019 another Star was added to our heavenly fathers sky.
