Emma Sue was remarkable. Her knowledge of children and adults with special needs--characteristics and effective teaching techniques ---was unsurpassed. Her experience was broad. Many special education teachers in this area, including myself, benefitted from her experience, wisdom, and kindness.

Emma Sue and I were close friends in high school, sharing many antics, most of which we got away with. Have LOTS of happy memories of our times together.
I knew she had health problems, but am surprised and deeply saddened by her death.
I send love to her family!

It was from Emma She's example when she was Director of the Developmental Therapy Center that I learned how a non-profit organization and Board of Directors should be run. Her excellence in her work was an inspiration to people who knew her professionally. She was dedicated, down-to-earth, and sincere.
