Gary and I are so sorry to see this. Thinking of all the family at this sad time.

She was such an inspiration in my younger years. I love her just like family. She will be missed by so many. Life is way too short. Many happy memories of your life in Ohio. To the Smith family, I am so saddened by your loss. Praying for the family.

Emma Sue was my first supervisor. as a teacher in Cabell County Schools over 25 years ago. She was so sweet and patient with the students and her teachers. A very kind soul. She will be missed.

To the entire Smith Family,I am so saddened by the loss of Emma Sue. She was not only a wonderful person, but a dedicated special educator who loved the kiddos she worked with. May God wrap her in his loving embrace and may he keep you all close. Prayers and hugs sent your way.Love,Sarah (Adkins) Harless

Emma Sue was remarkable. Her knowledge of children and adults with special needs--characteristics and effective teaching techniques ---was unsurpassed. Her experience was broad. Many special education teachers in this area, including myself, benefitted from her experience, wisdom, and kindness.
