Harold E. Ault, 79, passed away, surrounded by the love of family and friends, on January 7, 2022, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio.
Born July 13, 1942 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Willard S. Ault and Sara L. (Young) Ault, Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Larry Ault, sister-in-law Karen Ault, brother-in-law Jerry Wilson, sister Karen Harper, and infant siblings, Ruth and Gary Ault.
He graduated from Southeastern High School in 1960, where he set many records running track, then joined the United States Navy where he received training as an Electrician's Mate (EM), achieving the rank of E-5 while serving aboard the USS Escape (ARS-6). Beyond his Naval education, he also attended Ohio University and the University of Rio Grande.
Harold retired from Rockwell Automation (formerly Robbins & Myers) in Gallipolis, Ohio, where he served as their Quality Assurance Manager, making many friends along the way.
A father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he loved his family and friends, and will be deeply missed by many, including his son Jeff (Tami) Ault, Kingston, Ohio; daughter Lisa (Rick) Noble, Circleville, Ohio; daughter Jennifer (Travis) Dennie, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren Kayla, Justin, Rachel, Jarod, Chase, and Dylan; great-granddaughter, Isabella; one unborn great-grandchild; sister, Gwen Wilson; brother, William (Sue) Ault; brother, Keith (Alice) Ault; sister-in-law, Barbara Ault; brother-in-law, Ron Harper; stepson, Ron Warner; and special lifelong friends: Dana Daniels, Danny Maynard, and Greg Maynard.
Harold had a generous spirit, a brilliant mind, enjoyed a good laugh, loved music, and held a deep appreciation for '57 Chevys.
He was a 50+ year member of Scioto Lodge #6, F. & A. M., Chillicothe, Ohio; and belonged to VFW Post 108 and American Legion Post 62 in Chillicothe, Ohio.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Agnes Enrico-Simon, an exceptionally compassionate physician and friend for many years who was there at the very end, grieving alongside his family.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022, in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Ohio. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery where military graveside rights will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to Friday's service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Harold's memory to the American Cancer Society.
