James Eugene “Jim” Baldock, long-time residence of Reading, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the evening of March 19, 2026 at the age of 81. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1945 to the late John and Betty (Miller) Baldock.
Devoted husband of nearly 57 years to his wife, Maureen (Coleman) Baldock; loving father to his daughters, Maurita Baldock (Krag Ferenz) and Melissa Baldock Beaudoing (Nicolas Beaudoing); grandfather to Denis James and Philippe John Beaudoing; and a beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Jim graduated from Reading High School in 1963 and earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 1968. He worked as a mechanical engineer and was a passionate woodworker. He enjoyed sports cars and was an active member of the Cincinnati Woodworking Club. One of Jim’s favorite holiday activities was playing the role of Santa Claus for community events and family and friends. He was a fan of the movie, A Christmas Story, which reminded of his childhood days. In recent years, Jim was often found at Maple Knoll’s Cheers, greeting old and new friends. Those who knew him were blessed by his gregarious and generous spirit.
