TROY — Hunter James Sharp, 20, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was born on July 14, 1997 in Troy to Robert A. and Jennifer Lynn (Taynor) Sharp.
In addition to his parents, Hunter is survived by great-grandmother: Doris Beeson of Troy; maternal grandmother: Patricia A. Taynor of Troy; paternal grandfather: Robert A. Sharp of Fletcher; sister: Miranda Lee (Daryl Taylor) Sharp; niece and nephew: Claire and Oliver Taylor; aunts and uncles: Tom and Lisa Bergman of Troy and Phil and Cheryl Greenlee of Bidwell; cousins: Logan, Kyle, Caleb and Brenner Greenlee, Adam Bergman, Abbey, Zach and Anna Overholser, Sam and Kelsey Bergman, Ryan Bergman and Maggie Bergman; and numerous great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother: Mary S. Sharp; maternal grandfather: Herbert A. Taynor; great-grandparents: Warren Beeson, Marvin and Mildred Taynor, Frank and Gladys Thompson and Jack and Margaret Sharp.
Hunter was a 2016 graduate of Miami East High School. He was a 10-year member of the Farrow to Finish 4-H club and a four-year member of Miami East FFA chapter, where he served as an officer for two years and earned both his State and his American Farmer Degree. He was an employee of DBS Prestress Construction. Hunter enjoyed great success at the Miami County Fair, earning numerous grand and reserve champions and showing at the Ohio State Fair. He was a member of Cove Spring Grange. Hunter loved his Dodge truck, riding four-wheelers, motorcycles, playing corn hole, trap shooting and the great outdoors. Hunter's favorite pastime was hanging out with family and his buddies.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Ed Beeson officiating. Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery in Casstown. Pallbearers include Logan Greenlee, Caleb Greenlee, Kyle Greenlee, Ryan Bergman, Kayden Gustin, Josh Etter, Cody McNulty, and Trey Rush. Honorary Pallbearer Brenner Greenlee. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. A Grange Service will be held at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund to be established by the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
