RACINE, Ohio — Roger L. Sharp, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home in Racine, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family on February 19, 2017. Roger, 64, was diagnosed four months ago with liver cancer and heroically battled the disease.
Roger was born in Ripley, West Virginia, on May 4, 1952, and was the son of Herbert and Freda (Anderson) Sharp who preceded him. He recently retired after 41 years of dedicated service at Philip Sporn Power Plant in New Haven, West Virginia, where he was employed as Senior Instrumentation Controls and Electronics Tech.
Roger was an avid sports fan, golfer and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.
Roger is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lori B. (Hill) Sharp; his daughters and their husbands, Lori and Garrett Chenoweth of Elkins, West Virginia; Kati and Adam Hager of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Wyatt and Arianna; siblings and their spouses, Sandy and Don Goodson of Albany, Ohio, Gary and Connie Sharp of Leon, Kenny and Tia Sharp of Kenna; many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
Also, very loved by his extended family Dean (Jamie) Hill, Janey (Scott) Brinager, Autumn (Travis) Lisle; and grandchildren, Cruz, Jace, Jorja, Reed, Piper, Jett.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, West Virginia, with Pastor Roy Oldaker officiating. Burial will follow in Letart Falls Cemetery in Racine.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m.
