Mrs. Sherry Provens, 63, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Provens is survived by her husband, Garold Provens; two sons, Joseph Provens (Kimberly) of Maxton and Jeffery Provens (Stephanie) of Bidwell, Ohio; one daughter, Katey Lewis (Chad) of Oakhill, Ohio; one brother, Lowell Morrow, Jr. of Ohio; two sisters, Barbara Hughes and Diana Arrowood of Ohio; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Morrow.
Born February 27, 1950, in Gallipolis, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Lowell and Katrenda Bright Morrow. She was a graduate of the University of Rio- Grande in Ohio with a degree in Psychology. Mrs. Provens was a social worker with the Gallia County Mental Health and was responsible for writing the first grant for Domestic Violence in Gallia County. She attended Laurinburg Christian Church.
