Dr Crouch cared for my father when he was brought to PVH ER from the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in cardiac arrest. When my sister and I arrived from the Barboursville area, Dad was stabilized and on a vent. I also work in healthcare, so I knew the reality of Dads situation. Dr Crouch was so good to my sister and I. He came in frequently to check on us and each time he pulled up a chair and just talked to us like we had known him all of our lives. He asked about Dad, listened to our stories and gave us compassionate human contact and advice....not "white coat medical terminology" from someone with extra letters after their name. During several of the worst hours of my life, he confirmed what I knew was the prognosis, answered our questions, told us what he would do in our shoes, made us laugh, listened to our stories, and hugged us when we cried. This was on Fri Nov 18 at 4:30 in the morning. Dad passed peacefully at home on Mon Nov 21.
Thank you Dr Crouch for being human and not a cold white coat. I will forever remember the comfort you provided us. To your family...my deepest sympathy for your loss. In the few hours he spent with us, I learned how good of a man he was and I can only imagine that he was so much more to those who knew him personally. Prayers for your comfort in this loss.

Dr. Crouch had treated family members and myself in the E.R. at PVH and we appreciated his expertise/service, as well as his kindness, to us. I am sorry to hear of your loss. He will truly be missed. May you feel the Lord's presence as you look to Him for strength, peace and encouragement.
