CROWN CITY — Willard Sheets, 86, of Crown City, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Holzer Senior Care.
Willard was born on Nov. 11, 1934, in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Grover and Melva Bevan Sheets. Willard retired from the Laborers Union where he had worked road construction. He was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and Patriot Masonic Lodge. Willard was married to Gwendolyn Strait Sheets, and she preceded him in death in 2009. In addition to his wife and parents, Willard was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Halley; two sisters, Dorothy Greene and Glenna Gay Green; and one brother, C. Wayne Sheets.
Willard is survived by his children, Kathy (David) Halley, Willard Allen (Sharon) Sheets, Grover Thomas "Tom" Sheets, and Danny (Pam) Sheets; grandchildren, Joanna M. (Bob) McKnight, Bryan Halley, Gretchen (Joe) Pingley, Mary Elizabeth Sheets, Cody R. Sheets, Cory Camden, Jordan Sheets, Ryan Shafer and Trevor Shafer; and several great grandchildren.
A private burial will be held in Ridgelawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Willis Funeral Home is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Willard's name to the Holzer Senior Care Activity Fund. The family would like to express a special thank you to Holzer Senior Care for the love and care given to Willard.
