Denny and I have such fond memories of Allen. When we started in business Denny and I made lots of trips to A&A for parts and always for lots of ideas and support. Allen was always willing to help us at all times, always with that big smile of his. We just heard about his death and we are truly sad. Please accept our condolences to the entire Adkisson family at this time of sorry.

Theda and family,

Allen was my hero growing up. He was a good friend and always there to watch over me. My mother, Ruth Luke, wrote about how Allen and Theda always watched over me after the Old Timers Day parade when my mom had to stay and judge the floats. I remember the firetruck driving to the carnival after the parade and every year Allen would put me in the "jail" and bring me something to eat and drink. He always smiled. He was my hero. I also remember to Firefighters Challenge - they would use the fire truck hoses trying to spray a barrel on a wire to the opponants side. I always cheered for Allen and Theda. They are truly a great couple and will always be considered my friends. Thank you for all that you did for me over the years. I will remember you both always and I know we'll be even better friends when I see you again. With love,

My father is a firefighter and volunteered at Choctaw for 10 years. He worked right along side of Allen for many years. Growing up in Choctaw, Allen's face became all to familiar to me. I always hate to hear of the loss of a firefighter but, such an accident is such a tragedy. We can all see the fire engines of gold with Allen riding the streets of heaven throwing candy to the little ones lined along the streets in aww. Although its so hard to let go, keep in mind that you can meet again and what a reunion it will be. Be glad that you were blessed with this hero, and a HERO he is!

Our youngest daughter, Emily, loved to ride on the fire truck in the Old Timer's Day parade. The first year I was Mayor of Choctaw, I situated Emily (then about ten years old) on the fire truck with other children and then got into a car to ride in the parade. One of my duties was to select an entry for the Mayor's trophy. I got to the point in the parade where we turned to go to the park and had my car pull over so I could watch the entire parade go by so I could make my selection. It finally dawned on me that Emily had gone with the fire truck down into the park and that I wasn't there to meet her. When I finally got down to the park, there she was being watched out for by Allen and Theda. For the next seven years, Allen always made sure that Emily was cared for and made to feel part of the fire fighters' family. We love you both and have always considered Allen our "hero". We know that families can be forever and that you can be together again some day. We love you and are grateful to a loving Heavenly Father that our paths have crossed.
