Boyd "Ken" Lester Jr.

Boyd Lester Obituary

Boyd (Ken) Jr., passed away February 17, 2002. He was born August 18, 1952. Ken loved music and learned how to play the guitar and sing, and he entertained many people performing his favorite songs. He enjoyed reading about the history of our country. He developed a special relationship with his mother Mary Lester and his brother Lee Lester while living in the high desert in California and here in Oklahoma City with Lee and Kelly Lesters daughter Rachael. Ken was a clever, intuitive, funny, thoughtful and kind person. He struggled for many years trying to find stability and peace in this life and in the end he has found that peace. Ken is the son of Dr. Boyd K. Lester of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and Mary Jolley Lester of Oklahoma City. He is preceded in his journey by his sisters Lisa and Maria. He is survived by his son Kris Lester of Phoenix, Arizona, and his daughter Jennifer Gibson of Kansas City, Missouri, his sisters Janet Lester of Los Angeles, California, and Teresa Hernandez of Mustang, his brothers Tom Lester of Augusta, Maine, Lee Lester of Oklahoma City, Jim Lester of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and Stan Lester of Oklahoma City. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Roundtable Group, 3070 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, 73107, or the Grace Rescue Mission, 2205 Exchange Ave., Oklahoma City, 73108 'As long as the guitar plays, he'll steal your heart away.'

Last Monday evening, February 19, 2002, my ten year old daughter Chase and I were looking at my high school yearbooks, the Classen Orbit, I said,"Oh look there's Ken Lester, go back to that page...". I proceeded to tell Chase about Ken and all the Lesters. Today my sister Dyan told me Ken had passed and sent me this web address. I am in shock and grief and at a loss for eloquent words except: Dear Lester Family, May you find a comfort in your grief in knowing that you have touched the lives of many in profound and positive ways. Love and blessings, Dana McBride

I only knew Ken for a short time. He was attending class with me at Francis Tuttle. He was very nice and very kind to me. We talked all the time. He will truly be missed.

I enjoyed Ken. He gave me carnations once and was always sweet to me. I'm going to miss Ken, I already do.

Dear Family that lived on NW 17th,

Our hearts go out to you in your loss. Almost all of you have been a part of our lives for so many years and together we have shared this before. That is not to say we didn't have good memories;there were plenty of those. We love you all and even if we don't see each other much we are always here. Love, Dyan Shaw, Dana McBride, and Ricky Kern.
