Carl Camp Obituary

Dr. Carl Camp
Norman - Carl D Camp was born January 13, 1933 in Pampa, Texas to Ira Camp and Susie (Dittmeyer) Camp. He passed away in Norman on May 19, 2021.
Growing up in Cleo Springs, OK, Carl went on to serve in the army for two years. He then finished college at the University of Oklahoma and became a physician. He spent the majority of his life in practice at the Dycus-Camp Clinic of Moore. His capacity for diagnosis and care for his patients was the hallmark of his work for more than 40 years.
Carl was a practical intellectual. He spent hours thinking about things that the world needed. He enjoyed almost all card games and played bridge throughout his life. He would play any game that would challenge his thinking. He loved to dance and he kept up with sports and classmates.
He loved his family (biological or not) and was generous to all of them. He was married to Alice Coker in November of 2007 and lovingly referred to her as wife #3 as well as his friend and partner in life.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ira and Susie; brother, Lile; sister, Norma Lee, and sister-in-law, Lora Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of Norman, OK; daughter, Kim Camp of OKC, OK; son, Brian Camp and wife JoLynne of Shawnee, OK: daughter, Karen Minor and husband Scott of Little Rock, AR; granddaughters, Madisson Landreth and husband Jared: Cassidy Fisher and husband Zack: Mackenzie Camp: Allison Minor and husband Jordan Muir; grandson, Cameron Minor; great-grandson, Luke Landreth; brother, George Camp of OKC, OK; nephew, Mark Camp and wife Camille and children, Ian and Madeline; niece, Cheryl Camp; step-son, Kent Dennis and children Tanner and Savannah: step-son, Brent Dennis and children Alle and Dani Dennis; and step-daughter, Cindy Ritter and husband Ted and children Jake and Max.
A celebration of life will take place on June 2 at 10:30am at The Station at Central Park, 700 S. Broadway Ave, Moore OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to go to Bridges of Norman at bridgesnorman.kindful.com. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.tribute.care. Any deliveries can be sent to Tribute Memorial Care.
