January 3, 1949 - June 22, 2016 DEL CITY Charles Robert "Churn" Mathes was born January 3, 1949 in Woodward, Oklahoma and died June 22, 2016 in Oklahoma City. He was the first of five sons born to Adeline Joan (Dodd) Mathes and Lafayette Embree Mathes. He worked construction, in the oil field, and was a truck driver. Preceding him in death are his father, brother Fred, sister-in-law Sandra and nephew Adam. He is survived by Pam Covey and two sons Lafe and Riley. He is also survived by his mother, three brothers and their wives, Clyde and Anna, Stergus and Darla and Dennis and Brenda. He is survived by nephew Daniel and three nieces Ashleigh, Amy and Candice. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. His family and friends loved him and will miss him always.

Pam: I just recently heard about Churn. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I apologize for not keeping up with him after Gene passed. He and I were friends since Epperly Heights and had lots of fun over the years. He was a great and treasured friend and my kids and I have lots of wonderful memories with him.

Fear no more the heat o' the sun;
Nor the furious winter's rages,
Thou thy worldly task hast done,
Home art gone, and ta'en thy wages;
Golden lads and girls all must,
As chimney sweepers come to dust.

Fear no more the frown of the great,
Thou art past the tyrant's stroke:
Care no more to clothe and eat;
To thee the reed is as the oak:
The sceptre, learning, physic, must
All follow this, and come to dust.

Fear no more the lightning-flash,
Nor the all-dread thunder-stone;
Fear not slander, censure rash;
Thou hast finished joy and moan;
All lovers young, all lovers must
Consign to thee, and come to dust.

No exorciser harm thee!
Nor no witchcraft charm thee!
Ghost unlaid forbear thee!
Nothing ill come near thee!
Quiet consummation have;
And renowned be thy grave!
