Charles Salatka Obituary

Most Rev. Charles A., 85, retired Archbishop of Oklahoma City, died on March 17, 2003. He served as a Priest of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, MI (1945-62), Auxiliary Bishop of Grand Rapids (1962-68), Bishop of Marquette, MI (1968-77), and finally Archbishop of Oklahoma City (1977-92). Viewing will begin at 10 am, Thursday, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3214 N. Lake Ave., ending with the Mass of Christian Burial, at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Donations, in memory of Archbishop Salatka, can be made to the Archbishop Salatka Seminary Burse, PO Box 32180, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. SMITH & KERNKE 14624 N. MAY AVE

On behalf of the members of the Knights of Lithuania, a national organization of Lithuanian-American Roman Catholics, I wish to express our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of the Archbishop. Archbishop Salatka was an Honorary Member of our organization and his contributions for Lithuania and Lithuanian causes was deeply appreciated by all. He will be missed. May be rest in peace. Amzinai Ilsisi!
