COOPER PARKER Obituary

April 22, 1938 - Oct. 25, 2016 OKLAHOMA CITY Cooper Lee Parker, 78, the son of Daris McManning and Jennie Mae Parker, was born in McAlester. He was a graduate of Oklahoma City University and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He attended Harvard Divinity School and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy until 1965. Cooper and his family lived in Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Iowa and Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Charles, Dale, Laura, Mac, and Wayne. He is survived by his children, Amy Kirkland (John), Jennie McCartney-Brady (LeAnn), and Todd Parker (Anna); his grandchildren, Johnna Kirkland (Josh), Nathan McCartney (Sarah), Nicholas McCartney (Karla), Jackson Kirkland, Zachary Parker, and Elena Parkerl; and his great-grandchildren, Cooper, Leo, and Eily; as well as nieces and nephews. He was an incredibly loving dad and granddad, a genuine friend to all, and a longtime friend of Bill W. Donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
