You were one of a kind and never will I have a friend like you ever again. The only thing that ever kept me at peace throughout all these years without you, is that you left me with unforgettable memories that will stay with me until the end of time! It's been 9 years and I still think about you all the time. You're my sister and my heart and soul. I love you.

Rest in peace, Dakota. You were there and offered support and love in the most unlikely of circumstances. You were a good listener with bouts of hysterical wisdom. Hope you have a good audience and you get your voice. Love Always. W.

I just found this guest book and glad I did. I have been wanting to send you my prayers and support during your loss. I cannot imagine how hard this must have been for your family. I am actually a distant relative through the Redfern/Culkin connection. Please know your family is in our prayers.

My Sister, My Friend

Written in memory of
Dakota Culkin

One day a person, who lost the sister they considered their close friend and guide, fell into a deep sleep. As they slept they dreamed that they stood before the Gates of Heaven crying. An Angel appeared above them and then they spoke...

Where are you now my sister my friend?
The place that’s forever where time never ends
Where G-d creates angles from the light that they’ve shone
That place of love, where lost souls, find their way home

Where are you now my sister my friend?
When is the time I will see your light again?
Why do the sweetest of souls rise back to the sky
Are those stars that I see or tears from G-d’s Eyes

Then Angel said...
If we listen to whispers of the stars of the sky
We know they are our friends and they are light guides
For we are but stardust, we rise, and we change
Your sisters not gone, her lights rearranged

For Dakota,
She is now starlight that brings new light to the sky
Forever your friend, forever a guide
A friend forever to star and to man
“Remember,”
Spoke the angel, the name “Dakota”
Means friend
“Remember,”
Spoke the angel, the name “Dakota”
Means friend

The ones we love may change form but their love light never ends.
