December 4, 1934 - February 27, 2017 EDMOND Donald Reese "Don" Smith was born December 4, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John Jefferson and Gertrude Hattie Lowery Smith. Don would quickly tell you his greatest accomplishment was being husband, father, grandfather, and especially great-grandfather.Don is survived by his wife of more than 59 years, Mary Smith; children, Michael Smith, Donna James and husband Gerald, and Derek Smith and wife Kathy; granddaughter, Abagail Scott; grandsons, Michael Scott and Brian Smith; and great-granddaughter, Harper Scott.If you knew Don, you would agree with his grandson when he said, "My grandfather was and always will be the greatest man I've ever known."A come-and-go visitation and reception will be 6-8pm on Thursday, March 2nd, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond. A service honoring Don's life will be at 10am on Friday, March 3rd, at Edmond's First Baptist Church with burial following at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond. Memorial donations may be made in Don's name to Boy's Ranch Town.
